Feel-Good Friday: 3 May 2024 – Free Messina & Margarita Roulette

After another glorious week in the paradise that is the Man of Many office, we’re turning our sights to the weekend. Wet, rainy and presumably miserable, the next few days will likely be spent indoors and as far away from nature as possible. Boil the kettle, whack a soup on the stove and let’s crack into a great winter warmer, starting first with a beautiful little Feel-Good Friday appetiser. Bon Appétit.

MOOD Tea’s New Flavour is ‘Jolly Good’

Social enterprise MOOD tea is no stranger to doing a bit of good for the community. This week, the brand unveiled a new ‘Jolly Good’ English Breakfast brew flavour that is designed to boost morning moods and raise funds for youth mental health. According to MOOD tea, 100 per cent of the profits made from the sale of the new Jolly Good release will go towards funding programs to help combat youth suicide.

The premium black tea blend, sourced from the Daintree region in Queensland, joins MOOD’s four other blends – ‘Happy Days’, ‘Get On Up’, ‘Be Kind, Unwind’ and ‘Sweet Lullaby’, and features the same compostable and biodegradable tea bag design.

According to Chris Freel, CEO of UnLtd & MOOD, funding from the new Jolly Good flavour will help the brand to build young people’s mental health knowledge and resilience at an early age. The social enterprise chief is planning to implement batyr programs in as many schools as possible across the country.

“MOOD tea gives people an easy way to support youth mental health programs whilst also allowing them to sip on a delicious premium brew,” Chris Freel, CEO of UnLtd & MOOD said. “Our newest English Breakfast blend has been sourced locally from the Daintree Region in QLD, so we are excited for the opportunity to also help fund local suppliers. For each box of MOOD tea purchased, more young lives will benefit from the programs we fund via our incredible charity partners.”

The new Jolly Good flavour is available for purchase directly from the MOOD tea website, so grab a pack and feeling Jolly Good about yourself.

Uber One Launches a Long Weekend Excuse Generator

Pulled too many sickies? On your third dead grandma? Uber One has you covered. The ridesharing technology company has launched a new long weekend ‘excuse generator’ that harnesses real-time data inputs to help Australians come up with more believable explanations for why they can’t work.

Dishonest Aussies simply need to head to the Excuse Generator site, input some basic details, and the AI-enabled tool will create a bespoke message to send to their manager. Critically, the generator takes into account how much an employee’s boss actually likes them, a response to data that revealed 67 per cent of working Australians in capital cities were more likely to request time off from work if they know that their boss likes them.

The data was collected as part of a nationwide study from YouGov and Uber One, which revealed some interesting results. According to the study, which surveyed 1,004 Australian workers aged 18 and above who reside in one of the capital cities, two in three city workers across Australia say that they have hesitated or would hesitate to request time off or leave work because they can’t find a good excuse. Well, here’s the answer.
